Bike/Walking Trails

Seattle is bike and scooter friendly! If you brought your own bike or scooter, check out the nearly 20-mile Burke-Gilman Trail that runs from Northeast to West along the west side of Lake Washington along the ship canal through the heart of Fremont. Didn’t bring your bike? Don’t worry. The City of Seattle’s bike and scooter share program has bikes and scooters scattered all over the streets of Fremont. Download the apps and pick-up the closest bike or scooter.

If you’re coming to Fremont from downtown, take bus routes 5, 40 or 62. Coming from the North End? Look for the 5 or the 62. If Upper Fremont is your destination, and you’re coming from  Ballard or the U-District, look for Bus 44. Buses 31/32 will get you to Fremont businesses on the south side of the Ship Canal and downtown Fremont from Magnolia/Queen Anne, or the U-District. Learn more at King County Metro’s Schedules and Maps page.

Not sure where a bus stop is? Download One Bus Away and find stops and schedules. There’s also Trip Planner for a more detailed schedule through King County Metro. Or let Chamber Member Google guide you with its transit options on Google Maps.

Traveling by car? Take Aurora Avenue north from downtown for the most direct route into Fremont. If you’re traveling via I5, take exit 167 to Mercer Street west to Aurora Avenue North and continue north to Fremont. For better directions into the Center of The Universe, let Chamber Member Google guide you with Google Maps.

Need a charge for your EV? Check out our EV Charging Stations map!

For short term car rentals, take advantage of Seattle’s GIG Car Sharing program!

Parking in Seattle can be tricky! We always recommend looking into public transportation but if you do choose to drive into Fremont, download the PayByPhone app and enter the five-digit number on the green sign and you’ll be set – cash free! If you pay with the meter, make sure to get your sticker and put it on the correct window! Parkopedia is also a great option for comparing lots to find the cheapest garages in Fremont.
