Fremont Arts Council Needs Community Feedback, Take the Survey!
In response to a growing need to restructure and determine the future of the FAC, we’re reaching out to our community to point us forward!
This organization has been a scrappy, sequined, colorful, whimsical, disorganized and creative force for 3 decades! During that time, leadership has come and gone, and our neighborhood has seen huge changes and gentrification. Artists don’t necessarily live in Fremont anymore! And, our world is not the same as it was with the birth of the FAC. The largest racial justice movement in the history of the United States is happening. The world is shut down due to a pandemic. Where does that leave us?
That’s where you come in. We’ want to keep making the arts public – but we are hoping to move towards a more relevant, community-responsive, and flexible model that supports and engages artists (and we believe everyone is an artist!). In order to move forward, we need to reconnect to the Seattle arts community at large. Give us some honest feedback here, because that will determine how and if we move forward.
If we need to tear it all down to build it back up, we’re willing to do that. Tell us everything: the good, the bad and the troll-like. Take the FAC survey here!
City of Seattle and Community Partners Launch ‘Shop Your Block’ Holiday Campaign to Support Small Businesses
The City of Seattle launched the new Shop Your Block retail map as part of the larger public campaign—Shop Your Block—that aims to support small businesses throughout the holiday season. Shop Your Block connects consumers to local small retail businesses throughout Seattle using the new retail map and online neighborhood marketplaces. Shop Your Block celebrates Seattle’s unique character and encourages the public to support local retailers in their neighborhood —in person or online— this holiday shopping season. Check out the “Shop Your Block” map.

Three More Sundays to Enjoy the Fremont Sunday Market
Currently celebrating our 30th anniversary supporting our small business community.
Shout out to the Fremont Sunday Market!
Seattle’s favorite, year round public street market known for brunching and browsing, handcrafts, chef-preneurs, treasure hunting, vintage and one-of-a-kind, amazingly-cool-stuff. Established in 1990, the Market has evolved into a thriving, diverse European-style, open-air street market that goes year round.
During Covid-19, we have a limited the vendor booths to a reduced vendor capacity and restructured to accommodate a safe, socially distanced shopping experience. In addition, there’s a constantly changing bazaar of colorful world imports, new and original designers, artists and craftsmen with heart warming one-of-a-kind offerings.
