VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME / DONATE YOUR DOLLARS

VOLUNTEER: If you are spending extra time indoors for the next few weeks, offer to volunteer for your favorite businesses or nonprofit. VolunteerMatch is a website that can help you find an opportunity that supports an organization you believe in and makes the best use of your skills. A lot of work can be done online from the comfort of your couch! Another resource for finding volunteer opportunities is Idealist.org. Or you can go directly to the source!

DONATE: If you would like to provide financial support through a donation and want to maximize your gift, don’t forget about GiveBIG Washington. GiveBIG Washington is a fundraising event that starts with early giving on April 15 and culminates with a 48-hour public campaign on May 5-May 6. Through GiveBIG, individuals, businesses, and organizations come together to invest in healing our communities. Support nonprofits providing food, shelter, health, and social services; fighting for a more just world; expanding our horizons through art and learning; and many more valued missions.

Here’s a list of our local non-profits that could use your generosity. Or look for them on the GiveBIG Washington website and possibly double your impact through matching funds:
