Anytime Fitness: Fremont, Queen Anne and Snoqualmie Ridge

My favorite thing about being a Fremont business is serving the health, happiness and productivity of the individuals that comprise this unique energetic neighborhood. From Silicon Canal to the amazing places to get food and drink, to the craft and retail, homeowners and renters, mom and pop shops, salons and our friendly industrial contributors, Anytime Fitness members permeate every category of the neighborhood, and I feel that energy, and see all those familiar faces as I live in this community. That’s really special to me. It makes Anytime Fitness, as well as Fremont, a real community, and my home.

Anytime Fitness opened in December of 2006 and we’ve been a Fremont Chamber member ever since. Joining the Chamber was a fantastic introduction into the business community of the neighborhood. I met new people and had the opportunity build relationships with other Fremont business owners and employees.

Over the years as our business matured, so did relationships within the Chamber. It’s a little hard to quantify or monetize the value Anytime Fitness has gotten out of being a chamber member because it’s been an organic process. There is much the chamber does behind the scenes to advocate for the survival and success of local small businesses and keeping Fremont’s character funky. In my experience, as I show up, participate, collaborate, and interact with others in the community, increased success for my business has followed. Despite my own moderate social anxiety at “networking” events, I keep showing up. I even joined the board a few years ago which has been a really unique growth and learning opportunity as a younger entrepreneur.

A favorite phrase around Hale’s is, “the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.” And, of course, THE “Main Thing” here is making great beer in the brewery and serving great food and drink in the pub. The original vision, in 1983, for Hale’s Ales was to produce world-class ales, by the use of traditional English methods, using locally sourced natural ingredients, and to deliver the finished ales to local beer lovers as absolutely fresh as possible. That vision and mission remains unchanged today.
