It was with a heavy heart that we all had to cancel our shows, and while we’ll be missing live concerts for awhile, we of course agree that it’s most important to prioritize the health and safety of our community first and foremost.

Thanks for your continued support, stay safe and healthy out there, and we look forward to seeing you at this or another stream in the Nectar Virtual Concert Series, and of course at the next live concert when we reopen!

With Love,

Team Nectar & SolidSound

THE BLACK TONES

Simply put…The Black Tones are like a mixture of Kurt Cobain and cornbread.

Consisting of founders/twin siblings Eva Walker on guitar/vocals and Cedric Walker on drums, the blues- and punk-based dynamo continuously project subversion, power and the potential for something new on stage.

Born and raised in Seattle WA, they credit their family’s New Orleans roots as an influence on their music and writing.

During the past year, the band’s name has been on the tongue of nearly everyone who follows the richness of Seattle music. In 2018, the group opened for Death Cab for Cutie at the historic Paramount Theater during its 90th Anniversary celebration; became the most played band on KEXP (on the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s assassination) with their song, “The Key of Black (They Want Us Dead)”; and performed at countless summer festivals from Doe Bay to the Capitol Hill Block Party.

The Black Tones have also shared stages with standout groups like Thunderpussy, Tacocat, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio and We Were Promised Jetpacks.

The Black Tones have made appearances on Band In Seattle and The Spud Goodman Show, as well as having music licensed to the independent film “The Noise Made by People”. They have received praise from the Seattle Public Library system, The Stranger and AfroPunk.

The band’s debut record Cobain & Cornbread, recorded with famed Seattle producer Jack Endino, is now available.

TRES LECHES

https://www.treslechesband.com/

“Tres Leches are a band that dutifully resists easy formula. If you’ve ever been to one of their raucous and fun live sets, you’ve most certainly seen the band’s members, switch out instruments as often as the style of their songs. Logistically and musically, the overall vibe of Tres Leches isn’t necessarily chaotic, rather most certainly bored of routine. “

-Martin Douglas, KEXP
