Take the next steps in your guitar playing by reviewing the basics then quickly moving on to new chords and the most important scale in folk, blues, and rock: the pentatonic scale. You’ll continue learning popular songs from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s and begin singing along to as you play!
For students previously enrolled in Beginning Guitar 1 or those who can play at least three chords.
Skills Needed: Although this is a continuation of Beginning Guitar 1, you do not need to have taken that class to join this one. You should know a handful of chords (like E, A, G, C, and D) and be able to strum with your thumb or a pick.
What to Bring: Please bring a working, six-string guitar, tuner, and a device for recording and/or taking video. Note that Dusty Strings cannot provide loaner instruments for this class, and students may not use instruments for sale in the store. If you do not yet have a guitar, ask about our affordable rental program! We’re also happy to guide you through the process of purchasing a guitar and finding the right one for you.
