Today through Sunday beer, cider and wine are being poured continuously in Fremont at the Fremont Oktoberfest. There are over 80 beers to sample and lots of activities to enjoy the time you are there. On Friday and Saturday at 6:30p there is a Stein Hoisting Competition where you can test your strength and hold up a full stein parallel to the ground. Specifically, for the ladies you can get the chance to be named Miss Buxom 2017 on Friday at 8:30p. Rules to win include: dress to impress in German attire, be able to answer questions about Oktoberfest, be ready to present your best yodel and win the crowd over. Winner will get a crown, sash, a full stein, and admission to come back throughout the entire weekend. Plus great music throughout the days, see the line up here.
Sunday is family day and have lots of activities not only for adult but for the children as well. There will be a Zucchini Race where the children get to build and decorate a zucchini and race it down a track to win! Pumpkin decorating will be available (my favorite activity!). I took my little cousin last year and she loved decorating her pumpkin and was so proud to show it to the entire family. If the children get thirsty they get their own tasting of Rootbeer plus all the different types of food trucks that will have great food. If you do not have kids then I am sure you or you know someone with a dog! On Sunday Dogtoberfest is back, so dress you your furry baby and enter the contest at 3p.
If you are worried to miss any games this weekend, you will have to check out the new Sports Bar where you can watch the games on jumbo-sized projection screens! You can watch the Seahawks, Cougars, Huskies, Sounders and others right there at the Oktoberfest! And the sports bar is where you can get FULL sized beers as well.
Today it opens at 5p, so after work head down to Phinney Ave and enjoy music, beer and lots of laughs. Get ticket here. Come have a drink with me!
