The Fremont Chamber is happy to celebrate the accomplishments of those in the community who did extraordinary work to help keep Fremont GREAT!! We celebrate these award winners at our annual Holiday Party on the first Wednesday of December at the Fremont Studios, I hope you can join us.
2012 Award Winners:
Major Awards:
The Jim Daly, Press On Regardless, Award: for perseverance, specifically regarding something to do with communications…newsletters were Jim’s passion…
Nathan and the crew at Bold Hat Productions for fixing the broken generator at the Fremont Oktoberfest with very little disturbance to the event.
The Bertha K. Landes Award (The Big Bertha) for taking charge: for someone who takes no prisoners, takes no flack, and gets things done!
Adrian Hollingsworth – for setting up the Duck Captain Party – a FCC Board goal, and helping numerous times with Programs through the year to make it a very successful year for the FCC programs.
The Fremont Patches Pal Award:
for doing something that brought more fun to Fremont – or promoted our “fun” persona to the outer world
Frank Costa at Adobe, for bringing wiffleball to the Center of the Universe
The Hammering Man:for perseverance, especially on a project that spans several years…
Lisa Picard, Skanska and Linda Mitchell - for never stopping the fight to bring a deep green building into Fremont
Chamber Pot of Commerce:
for brilliant business practices that make us all look good…
Theo Chocolate for finding space and working well with Fremont Events through their warehouse and shipping expansion
The Local Hero Award: for helping Fremont remain fabulous.
Ken Saunderson – for making wiffleball not only happen, but shine!!
Certificate Awards:
The New Sheriff at the Center of the Universe Award – for keeping Fremont’s best Elementary School strong – Katie Pearl, Principal B F Day School
Best non-Representation from a Lawyer – for always being there for the Fremont Chamber – unofficially!! - John Houlihan, Principal Houlihan Law

Phill Briscoe for successfully leading the marketing committee for 3 years and helping to keep Jessica on task on all marketing matters.

Certificate Awards:
The BeeGees Award – for Stayin’ Alive (or the Never Let Go Award or the Viagra Award) – Kirk Richmond, Far East Handicraft, for finding a way to stay in business even though closing the store in Fremont
Cashing in on the Center of Universe – Groundspeak – for bringing a new, family-oriented event to Fremont that encourages people to poke around and have fun
Walking into a New Era Award – Cougar Mountain Productions – for staying (almost) in budget and again almost totally redesigning the Walking Guide at an almost moments notice
Move ‘Em Along Award – Loren Street and the City of Seattle Police in Fremont – a big thanks for all the support to especially our retailers who have to deal with hangers on, drunken behavior and more, you very much help Fremont stay safe!
Three Musketeers Award – Michael Jerret, Ryan Thurston, Bill Blau – for your continued efforts on designing, and getting installed the Aurora Bridge Barrier.
The Dorothy Award – “There’s no place like a home” – Paul Nordstand and History House for housing the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.
